#PositivelyPurple: On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the IPN is standing up for inclusion

December 3 marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a day that organizations, businesses and public institutions around the world use to raise awareness of the rights of people with disabilities and the issues they face. The IPN is among the organizations taking part in the #PositivelyPurple campaign, whose purpose is to highlight the importance of inclusion and diversity. Purple stands for equality of opportunity and the right of people with disabilities to participate in the workforce and build their own financial futures.

Inclusion in science and research

People with disabilities are extremely underrepresented in science and research. The IPN wants to help dismantle barriers to inclusion and enable participation and career development for all. As part of our efforts in the areas of diversity and inclusion, we are pushing to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities and those with an equivalent status. Ultimately, we are working toward a society where opportunities are open to everyone and barriers to inclusion are increasingly rare.
